DMB 2007: A Year in Review

December 28th, 2007

By Chris Urzi

dmb2007.jpgDave Matthews Band provided fans with another memorable year in 2007. There was no stone left unturned as the band kept busy as always and gave fans some surprises along the way. They traveled the country and made their way to Europe and Australia. The year would never be complete with out a few charity events, some contests, a few live releases, a couple DVDs, and how about a few new songs to boot.

Dave Matthews started off the 2007 year in Europe with a short 14 show run, visiting cities like, Dublin, Oxford, Milan, Paris, Brussels, Berlin and Amsterdam. He spent a little time performing solo shows in 2006, but for 2007, long-time friend Tim Reynolds joined Dave for the Europe tour. Tim has joined Dave for many shows in the past, but came as a little surprise, only being announced a few days prior to the first show.

davetimeurope.jpgNot wasting any time, Dave Matthews was eager to debut new song “Cornbread”. This song continued to be played by Dave and Tim a few more times, but took on a life of it’s own during the 2007 US Summer tour, being the most played song of the tour.

"Can’t Stop"**, new song from 2006 was played for the first time solo and only once by Dave & Tim. The song has yet to be played again by the band since the 2006 summer tour.

Dave Matthews Band Surveys Fans for Opening Acts in 2008

December 12th, 2007

surveyChecklist.gifAs Dave Matthews Band has done in the past, they have called on fans again for a survey. This seems to be a running tradition every year as they ask fans what Top 5 artists they would like to see as opening acts for the upcoming tour.

Even though there has been no official word on a 2008 tour, it would seem highly unlikely that there would not be at tour with a survey like this and the fact that Stefan said he pretty much guarantees a summer tour, stated in a recent interview.

Some of this past years opening Acts included, Xaiver Rudd, Toots and The Maytals, The Wailers, Umphreys McGee, The Root, Peter Yorn, Robert Randolph & The Family Band and more...

Who will support the DMB 2008 Tour? Click Here to vote for the 5 artist you would like to see. Only ONE VOTE per person will be accepted.

Leroi Moore gets "Smooth" in new Honda Ridgeline Promo

October 14th, 2007

roihonda.jpgLeroi Moore jams on his saxophone in a new Honda Ridgeline Commercial.

"Tough Meets Classy" is the new theme for the Honda Ridgeline promo spots released last week on television. Honda released four different themes to promote the new 2008 Honda Ridgeline, each to talk up specific vehicle attributes.

The "Tough meets classy" theme features women drinking tea with Chuck Norris stopping by to crash the party; "Rugged meets spacious" has a lumberjack floating in space; "Tradition meets innovation", has a father at Thanksgiving dinner whipping out a laser knife to cut the turkey; and "Rough meets smooth" takes place on a fishing boat battling savage seas, and huge waves swamping the sailors on deck. On deck with the sailors is impeccably dressed LeRoi Moore jamming on saxophone.
