Dave Matthews Band Receives Two Grammy Nominations

The Grammy's announced all the nominees for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards which are scheduled to air live from Los Angeles on CBS on January 31, 2010.

Dave Matthews Band’s "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King" received Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year!

This is the first time Dave Matthews Band has had a Grammy nomination since 2003 (Dave Matthews won for Best Pop Vocal Performance for "Gravedigger" in 2004). The only Grammy win by the band was for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group on "So Much To Say" in 1997.

This is DMB's first ever "Album of the Year" nomination and their fellow nominees in this category are Beyonce, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift.

It's been a very strong year for Dave Matthews Band and the album and tour have been an ongoing tribute to LeRoi Moore and his work with the band which will live on forever though DMB. You may recall the failure to mention LeRoi at last years Grammy's. This year will hopefully be very different.
